Sweltering summer days are upon us and if you’ve been desperately looking for places to cool off this summer – look no further! We’ve compiled a list of some of the best places to take a dip and beat the heat.
Chatfield Reservoir
Whether you’re looking to water ski, fish, canoe and paddle board, sail, or just float – Chatfield has it all! Bring your annual park pass for free entry, or pay by the day for $10/car. Chatfield offers on-site parking, picnic area, restrooms, and a dedicated swimming beach area. Bring your own water crafts, or check out the many rental options available around the park! Colorado Watersports offers Canoe, CORCL, Double or Single Kayak, and Stand Up Paddle Board rentals starting at $20/hour.
Congress Park Pool
If you’re hoping to stay closer to the Denver area – check out Congress Park Pool! Set to reopen this summer, the Congress Park Pool received a $10.1 Million renovation as part of the Elevate Denver Bond program passed by voters in 2017. The new state-of-the-art facility offers a lap pool and a youth pool surrounded by plenty of seating where caregivers can keep a watchful eye. Congress Park Pool is an excellent wallet-friendly option for all: Free admission with a recreation membership, daily admission is $1 for kids 2-18, $3 for young adults 19-24, and $3.50 for adults. They also offer annual pool passes for $20, $35, and $50.
Clear Creek, Golden
Spending time in the Golden area this summer? You’re guaranteed to see people schlepping tubes along Clear Creek. Thanks to a new shuttle option from Adventure West, you can cruise the river’s natural and man-made features without the trek. Adventure West’s Tube with Shuttle package is $35 M-F and $40 Saturdays and Sundays and includes commercial-grade tubes, helmets, life jackets, and 2 shuttle trips – meaning you get to ride the river twice! Rentals usually begin in late June when the water flow slows to safer levels. You can also just rent tubes starting at $20.
The Denver area has plenty of Indoor and Outdoor public pools – you can check them out.
