Learn a New Hobby in Colorado!

Learn a New Hobby in Colorado!

Summer is here and it’s time to learn a new hobby! Whether you’re cultivating a new skill or stoking old fires, Colorado is a superb state for activities both outdoors AND in! We, here at Brandon and Lana Team, are happy to point YOU in the right direction to get focused and make some memories this summer!

Pottery, painting, jewelry-making, WELDING, etcetera! These are all classes offered by Colorado’s own Art Students League of Denver. Anyone who wishes to attend a class at ASLD may either purchase a year-long membership at the rate of $59 in exchange for 15% off course tuition and open studio access! Kids ages 6-17 are eligible for a child membership of $18 per year. The Art Students League of Denver was modeled after the Art Student’s League of New York studio and first opened its doors in 1987. Today, the studio hosts over nine hundred students per month and employs over two hundred renowned artists to teach classes. Make sure you invite us though, from all of the houses we see, we have bunches of material to draw creativity from!

If you live in Colorado then you are probably no stranger to hiking! However, we all know that being an avid hiker is not actually a requirement for Colorado residency. Perhaps you actually do not know about hiking at all! Well, fear not, Brandon and Lana Team has your back on this one! There are all types of hiking trails in Colorado. Long, short, urban, mountainous, you name it! A great resource for locating a hiking trail that is just what you’re looking for is the All Trails App which you can download on the Apple App Store or visit their desktop website at AllTrails. Personally, we recommend the Trading Post Trail at Red Rocks for a not-too-long mountainous trek. As for city trails, Washington Park hosts a 2.3 mile loop throughout the entire park! Take a picture of your hike and tag us on Instagram at @BrandonAndLana! And, hey, the good news is that hiking is FREE! Enjoy a full day of fun AND and full wallet as a hiking hobbyist of the Rockies!

It can be hard to learn a new recipe from simply a magazine article or a Pinterest post. That’s why we are here to tell you about Denver’s Cook Street School of Culinary Arts! Cook Street School offers recreational classes which are apt for anyone ranging from parents who just can’t get that Sunday dinner right to single people who are tired of heating up the same old TV dinners every night! Cook Street School classes are taught by master-trained chefs who are experts in most any type of cuisine you are looking to grasp in the kitchen. One-off classes include courses in cuisines from all over the world such as Peru, Mexico, India, Modern American, Spain, France, Italy, and so on. There are also classes to hone in on certain culinary categories in classes like Seafood 101, Cocktail Collaboration, Knife Skills, Beef Subprimal, among many others! Once you know your way around the kitchen you’ll need a kitchen to show off your skills in! Visit this website or send us an email at Brandon@BrandonAndLana to find your next home!

It’s no wonder that rock climbing is a staple hobby amongst the weekend warriors of Colorado, there’s just so much to climb! Of course, Colorado has many natural rock climbing sites. But we also have many climbing gyms to practice in or enjoy when the Colorado weather throws us a doozy! Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Rocky Mountain National Park, Black Canyon in Gunnison, Rifle Mountain Park, and Castlewood Canyon State Park in Castle Rock are all notable places where Coloradan climbers flock towards. For an indoor climbing gym check out Denver Bouldering Club! Day passes to Denver Bouldering Club are $20 and you can rent climbing shoes for just $5! Rock climbing is a great way to see Colorado and cultivate community right here at home! Not to mention it is a great way to increase strength and relieve stress in this competitive housing market!

There are plenty of hobbies and activities of all kinds across Colorado and its wonderful residents! In fact, our hobby-based communities here in Colorado are one of our most prideful traits! We’re excited to see you all out on the trails, in the kitchen, in pottery class, or climbing the Rockies! Whatever your hobby is, we are always here for you when you need a place to go home to after an exhausting day of underwater basket weaving. Go to this website to see what’s on the market currently or give Brandon a call at (303) 999-9727 to see what we can do for you!
