1. Do you work full time?
This is a very important one. Real Estate is one of the biggest financial transactions and to trust someone who is working in it part time for a quick buck and not in your best interest doesn’t seem wise. Continuing education, dedication, up to date knowledge, commitment, latest technology and trends, time and money investment here are just a few qualities of a Full Time Realtor.

Â
2. Do you have any support/staff members?
There are so many moving parts in a Real Estate transaction and for you it will start and stop with your Realtor, but what if he/she is sick, on vacation, or has a personal emergency? Do they have someone to fall back on to move forward smoothly or will your transaction fall apart?
Â
Hmmm...definitely something to keep in mind.
3. Are you a Realtor or Broker Associate?
Yes, there is a big difference, and not everyone who sells homes is a Realtor.
Â
To be a Realtor means being a part of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and local Realtor Associations, following a code of Ethics, having rules and regulations, and taking their business seriously. The Broker Associate has a real estate license and that’s about it.
Â
4. What are the latest tools you use?
Even though all Realtors do the same – sell homes, THE WAY it is done is different. Up-to-date technology, websites, and tools are how agents stay competitive in the rapidly changing real estate market.
Â
Make sure your agent and their approach to conducting business is still relevant.
Â
Â
5. What transaction are you most proud of?
If you understand how the agent conducted themselves in a specific situation it might help you understand how they will handle the situation and negotiation of your deal.
Â
6. What is your plan of action for me?
Good professional knows the steps you need to take to get you your desired outcome. Whether it’s a crazy market, bad credit, multiple offer situation, or low inventory, no matter what your situation might be your Realtor should have a plan of action for you.
Â
Hiring a knowledgeable advocate to help you with such a big step in your life is crucial, take your time, ask questions, trust your gut, and make a good choice.
